With the aim to further develop and diversify the music experience for the Filipino audience, Ayala Museum with the Philippine International Jazz Festival Foundation once again present Jazz at the Ayala Museum featuring the best local and international artists of the genre.

This event is a series of four mini concerts to be held at the Ground Floor Lobby of the Ayala Museum at 6:00 in the evening on the following dates: August 26 with Dr. Royal Hartigan and Diwa Ensemble, September 3 with The Executive Band, September 10 with the Jedi Jazz with Andy Gander and September 16 with the A.M.P. Big Band with Professor Mel Villena.

August 26 features Dr. Royal Hartigan, a percussionist who has studied a wide array of drumming, songs and dances from the indigenous melody of West Africa to the sultry sounds of the Brazilian samba.

September 3 will showcase The Executive Band, founded by Senator Raul Manglapus. Starting out as an amateur band of well-known professionals in the 1960’s, the band has since gained an international following. The current members are well-known in their professional fields like Francis Manglapus, Hector Santivores, Butch Silverio, Jings de Guzman, Martin Macalintal, Mike Tan, Ricky Quiogue, and Vince Tan.

September 10 highlights Andy Gander, one of Australia’s foremost jazz drummer who has performed with famous international artists like Harry Connick, Jr. and Tom Jones.

Lastly, September 16 will feature AMP Big Band led by Mel Villena. The band is composed of members of the Asosasyon ng Musikong Pilipino, an organization of Filipino professional session musicians, who seek to preserve and promote the western jazz tradition in the country’s musical heritage.
