“PULP Summerslam XI: The Resurrection” Press Conference

The press conference

When it comes to summer rock concerts one event quickly comes to mind: Pulp Summerslam. And for this year PULP Live Production made sure that concertgoers are in for a hell of a rocking time by bringing in bands Anthrax, Hell Yeah and Death Angel for one awesome musical explosion. Press people were privy to the details of this highly-awaited event at the press conference held at the Serendipity Lounge of Discovery Suites in Mandaluyong City. Press people from print, radio and TV as well as other music bloggers were present to meet the participating artists in the flesh.

Mr. Ramon Zialcita

The conference was hosted by rock jock Ramon Zialcita (“The Doctor”) who gave some interesting facts about the previous PULP Summerslams and what to expect for this year’s PULP Summerslam XI. He also shared all of his personal Summerslam experiences at the presscon .

Mr. John Consul

Mr. John Consul of Colt 45 was then introduced by the host; Consul discussed the partnership between PULP and Colt 45 for the Summerslam concert. He also revealed some tidbits on how they created the special edition of Colt 45 bottles.

Hell Yeah

Filipino-American trash metal band, Death Angel was the first to appear at the press conference, the band is headed by their vocalist, Mark Osegueda. Following suit were the American heavy metal super group Hellyeah, as soon as they entered both bands went straight to their respective seats. Hell Yeah is headed by their vocalist, Chad Gray ( coincidentally Gray is also a vocalist for Mudvayne.). Lastly, Anthrax with guitarist Scott Ian at the helm, completed the line-up for the press conference.

As the press conference is about to start, Charlie Benante, the drummer of Anthrax had observed that the press is quite indisposed and expecting that the crowd for tomorrow’s PULP Summerslam will not be the same as what the press had.

Anthrax

When the press asked Anthrax about how they feel being in a “weird country”, the band replied that there’s nothing weird being here in Manila. For them, the people and the environment here in our country is great.

Anthrax along with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth are currently members of the Big 4, a title given to the four biggest metal bands of their generation. “Doctor” the host of the event, shared a few memories about the Anthrax’s last concert in Manila back in 1987, to refresh the memories of everyone who was present.

Death Angel

Here’s a fact, Death Angel’s guitarist Ted Aguilar is a 100% Filipino. Death Angel once performed at the Summerslam before as the headliner for the PULP Summerslam VII in 2007.
