Who Do You Pick As Deftones’ Front Act?

As all of you know, the Deftones will be returning to Manila on May 26 to play a show in support of their new album Koi No Yokan. There’s also the news of Queso being chosen as the opening band for the concert. The response we got from you readers was overwhelming to say the least.

We’ve been pretty quiet about it for some time, but here it goes… there will be 2 opening bands for the concert on May 26! And if you’re wondering who the 2nd band will be, we’re leaving the decision to you, Splintr fans. Yes, you’ll be taking a more active role in our selection of which band would get to share the stage with Deftones and Queso.

We have narrowed down the selection to 7 bands: Philia, Franco, Curbside, Faspitch, Pitik, Earthmover, and Salamin. Now you get to decide which of these 7 undeniably talented local artists will get the much-coveted slot. All you have to do is follow the mechanics as below:

1. Nominated artists include only:

2. Log on to and sign in via facebook
3.  Go to the artist page of your front act choice.
4. LIKE the artist page using the like button found below the artist name.
5. The artist page with the most LIKES on the counter will be chosen as the front act for DEFTONES in May!
6. Plus a bonus!- two (2) VIP tickets will be given away at random to anyone who votes by logging on to and signing in via Facebook. Note that if you simply like on your front act choice without signing in to Splintr via Facebook, you will not be eligible to be chosen as the VIP tickets winner.
7.  The Front Act Contest runs from April 22, 2013 upto May 3, 2013.  Announcement of the front act winner will be made on May 4, 2013.  Winner of the VIP tickets will be advised via email.
This is your chance to be a part of the upcoming show, and have your voice heard, for the first time ever! Splintr would like you to help us choose. Who knows, maybe your favorite band gets the opening slot and you’ll have a hand in their victory.  It’s another way for you and us at Splintr, to show support for local music.
