INTENSE, extraordinary, exceptional, fierce and powerful! Erik Santos' 10th anniversary concert lived up to these adjectives. PICC was packed and filled with people who loved and supported him throughout his career.

The opening was different from the usual concerts we’ve attended. A shadow play by Pinoy Got Talent's El Gamma Penumbra showed Erik's journey to stardom. Erik's silhouette then appeared ending the amazing shadow performance. Fans cheered and curtains fell. The star of the night kicked off the show with a mash up of  Fly & I Believe I Can Fly. Erik was beaming with happiness seeing the full house venue filled with family, fans, friends, including fellow celebrities like Jed Madela, Gary V. and Zsa Zsa Padilla.

A mother and son skit came after. Singer Frenchie Dy played Tita Litz (Erik's mom) and dished out some interesting trivia about Erik. It was revealed that his first celebrity crush was Pia Moran. Erik explained that after seeing Pia Moran in a show in Malabon, he started admiring her as he rarely sees beautiful girls wearing full make up in their barangay. “Tita Litz” also shared that when Erik was little, he would climb up to their roof just to sing and belt his heart out but eventually hides away if he sees people watching.

It became nostalgic as he performs Pagbigyang Muli, his first original song. What really touches the audiences’ hearts was when he thanked and dedicated Magpahanggang Wakas to his parents. He said, if he was given another life, he would still choose them to be his parents. This really gets Erik so emotional and cried while singing the song.

The whole concert was really an emotional roller-coaster as Erik comes back to his funny self joking about how he never expected that he will be a part of a big musical play where all the songs and dialogues are in English. (Erik played Prince Eric at Atlantis’ The Little Mermaid) He jokingly hopes for a Tagalog musical next time.  Erik then performed a medley of Les Miserables songs such as I Dreamed A Dream, On My Own, Do You Hear The People Sing, etc.

Concert Queen, Ms. Pops Fernandez was the first guest to join Erik on stage. She first entertained the crowd with her medley of dance songs then did a duet of A Thousand Years with Erik.

One of crowd’s favorites was when Erik performed a medley of theme songs from John Lloyd and Bea's movies: Now That I Have You, I Miss You Like Crazy and the classic I'll Never Go. It was extra special because of the bonus vtr wherein Erik was inserted on memorable scenes from the movies and played all the John Lloyd parts. Erik was good, he should consider acting!

Everybody was surprised when Piolo Pascual suddenly came out as Erik Santos' driver Noy. The skit was hilarious as Erik told “Noy” he looked like that actor/singer "Piolo." Erik then funnily demonstrated to “Noy” how this “Piolo” sings!

Erik also dedicated a heartwarming medley of Teleserye theme songs to all Cancer survivors. He sang Maging Sino Ka Man, Iisa Pa Lamang, Ikaw, May Bukas Pa, Lupa, Diyos Ay Pagibig and Muling Buksan Ang Puso.

Erik together with Angeline Quinto and Yeng Constantino, performed their intense versions of It's All Coming Back To Me Now and I Would Do Anything For Love. Yeng Constantino, who is a co-talent of Erik at Cornerstone, will also have a solo concert entitled "Plugged In" on November 30 at Samsung Hall at SM Aura. Tickets for the show are available at

Another fan favorite from Erik's concert was when he sang Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka. A vtr of Erik's closest friends singing along with him was shown. The vtr showed video clips from Sarah Geronimo, Martin Nievera, John Pratts and KC Concepcion to name a few.

Most awaited number was Erik’s duet with Ms. Regine Velazquez. They sang a mash up of Kung Akin Ang Mundo and Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka. The Asia’s Songbird also performed her new song, Hulog Ka Ng Langit, which she dedicated to his 2-year-old son.

Erik gave his fans a treat and sang his new song which will be out soon. He also performed a ballad version of Britney Spears' Ooops I Did It Again.

Rufa Mae Quinto, Erik's ex-girlfriend, made a surprise special appearance as well. For the third time, the concert was turned into a stand up comedy show. Rufa Mae shared some of their funny memories when they were still dating. It was hilarious and sweet at the same time, joking that they will get back together.

Who wouldn't want to see Erik Santos dance? Surprisingly he can move! They did a dance evolution medley of popular dance crazes such as Macarena, Soulja Boy and Whoopskiri to name a few. He then sang Robin Thicke’s hit song Blurred Lines. It was refreshing to hear Erik do covers like this.

Comedy Concert Queen Ms. Ai Ai Delas Alas suddenly came out dancing and “twerking” like Miley Cyrus. She jokingly seduces Erik on stage and her Rated SPG humors made everyone inside the hall burst out with laughter. She then performed a medley of Whitney Houston’s songs.

Erik went back to his usual powerful balladeer mode and sang American Idol hits such as I Believe and A Moment Like This. He then performed Climb Every Mountain together with Koro Illustrado.

Of course, the night will not be complete if he will not sing his trademark song. The song that made all this possible for him, his winning piece... This Is The Moment. It was surreal and the audience was left in awe. Everybody stood up after and gave the balladeer a standing ovation!

He dedicated his encore song, A Song For You, to all his friends and fans. Pictures of them together were made into a slideshow and was played in the background while Erik is singing.

Erik Santos was indeed meant to stay in the music industry, not just for 10, 20 or 30 years. He was born to stay for a lifetime! A real OPM jewel who will continue to give Filipinos quality hit songs and intense concerts like this.

Hence, Erik Santos is truly an inTENse Prince of Pop.
