Ayala Malls, being a premiere lifestyle experience to its shoppers, is no stranger in hosting A-list lineup of exciting events and performances both from the local and international scenes. With names such as Dashboard Confessional, Cobra Starship and Forever the Sickest Kids already under their belt. And recently, American Indie Pop Duo, Capital Cities, took the stage in some of our favorite Ayala Malls.

For the uninitiated, Capital Cities is LA Based duo of composers/songwriters Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian. Since their inception in 2010, the boys have successfully released hits such as "Safe And Sound," "Patience Got Us Nowhere Fast" and "I Sold My Bed, But Not My Stereo" among many others. Now, joined by bassist Manny Quintero, trumpeter Spencer Ludwig, guitarist Nick Merwin, and drummer Channing Holmes - the band currently tours to showcase their debut album, In a Tidal Wave of Mystery. And the Philippines was one of their recent stops.

With hordes of fans attacking Trinoma, Glorietta, Alabang Town Center and Marquee Mall, it is safe to say that the band has already established quite a following locally. And who wouldn’t. With their live samplings of infectious synth-pop and energetic dance beats, Capital Cities proved to be a well-crafted tight unit that’s not hard to love.

What a great way to start the concert year!
