THE MOONSHINE JUNGLE TOUR 2014 HITS MANILA TOMORROW NIGHT
While in Manila, Mars also pledged to help the victims of last year’s Typhoon Yolanda by donating $100,000 to ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc.’s Bantay Bata. His generous contribution will be used to assist and care for children affected by the super typhoon and help bring back the esteem and morale of orphans who lost their homes and families.
Since his first performance in the country in 2011, he has become one of the biggest selling artists of his generation with over 5 million albums and 45 million singles sold worldwide. Unorthodox Jukebox, the follow-up to his Certified Platinum breakthrough debut Doo-Wops & Hooligans, has spawned hit after hit from “Locked Out Of Heaven” to “When I Was Your Man” and “Treasure” to “Gorilla.”
He also garnered one achievement after another since, including nine MTV Awards, five ASCAP Pop Music Awards, four Teen Choice Awards, two BRIT Awards, and two Grammy Awards, among many others. Just this year, in a span of one month, Mars won his Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, performed an incredible show at halftime of the Super Bowl, and bagged a BRIT Award for Best International Male Artist. His most recent venture, voicing the character Roberto in the animated musical film Rio 2, is only one of the many stints he has added onto his already formidable résumé.
Mars’ 23-date (and counting) The Moonshine Jungle Tour has gone from Australia to New Zealand before landing in the Philippines for a highly anticipated, one-night only performance. He will be joined by Poreotics, the America’s Best Dance Crew Season 5 winners featured in Mars’ video for “The Lazy Song,” who will be performing their signature moves for the opening act of the show.
