It was a dance party democracy if we could say so, and it was the first time it’s been done. Close Up Forever Summer gave social media the power to vote on several elements involving the event, and the results were astounding.

With every question supported by massive tweets plus every request pushed online – it was no surprise the event was on trending status for several days leading to D-day.

As Close Up brand manager GemLaforteza shares “We decided with our followers. We gave people a choice between an Indie concert or an EDM party and the crowd decided they want to dance.”
And dance they did. Thousands of them. Thousands of them seen in their tents made by Globe, Greenwich andHavaianas. Thousands of them in their florals and their Go-Pros.

Thousands of them mingling in food trucks and in the beautiful landscape of Globe Circuit. Thousands of them contributing to the biggest summer event Close Up has ever staged.

Of course, there’s the music. The massively attended crowd was very much receptive to our local heavy hitters Mars Miranda, Ace Ramos, Marc Naval and MartinPulgar. With every drop of their pop remixes, house favorites, trance and electronica anthems; our local EDM heroes proved to be victorious in their respective rounds.  And of course there’s the foreign contingency composed of Aussie bombshell, Helena, plus up-and-comer DenizKoyu, with their brand of music that kept the crowd going until the wee hours of the morning – party robots, fireworks, confetti, pyro and cryo blasts inclusive.

But of course, Alesso owned the night. With hit after hit after hit of his EDM favorites, the Swedish music maven kept his A-game on. This being his second time in the country, it seems that the man has already sealed a good rapport with his audience. And the crowd loved every minute of it. “City of Dreams”, “Calling”, “Years” and many more provided to be the soundtrack of the night –man was it amazing.

We are very happy with the turn out, and so are the artists”, reveals Laforteza, “We spoke to Alesso right after his set, and among the first things he said was that he had an amazing time with the crowd.  We have gotten a lot of positive feedback on social media as well, especially on the tweet-activated surprises we threw.”And as for the next one? “As long as these parties make people feel alive, Close Up will find a way to throw them”, Gem imparts.

So be there when the next EDM elections by Close Up happens. And if you missed out on this, be sure not to miss out on the next.

Special thanks to Close Up Philippines, Bridges PR, and 1DMG
