Formed in February 2009 in Los Angeles, California, Echosmith is one of the hottest up and coming indie alternative pop bands in the US. The band composed of four Sierota siblings Graham (drums), Noah (bass and backup vocals), Jamie (guitars and backup vocals) and Sydney (lead vocals) was named by Music Television (MTV) as one of “Artists to Watch in 2014” and by the Alternative Press Magazine as one of its “100 Bands You Need to Know” in April 2013.
Despite their young age, all of the band’s members are below 20 years old, Echosmith has already been making waves in the music scene, showcasing their 80’s influenced brand of synth pop. The band signed with Warner Bros. Records in May 2012, after which, their first single ‘Tonight We're Making History’ was released.
In October 2013, the band released its debut album Talking Dreams, which reached No. 3 in the US Top Heatseekers list and No.49 in the US Rock chart by Billboard Magazine. The album’s carrier single ‘Cool Kids’ became the band’s most iconic hit to date, peaking at No. 2 in Billboard’s Top Heatseekers and No. 19 in the Adult Top 40 chart.
Aside from scoring big hits, Echosmith is also a big favorite at the annual Vans Warped Tour. The band has also opened for popular mainstream artists such as Owl City, Twenty-One Pilots and Neon Trees.
