Back in 2012, when Brad Simpson, James McVey, Connor Ball and Tristan Evans formed The Vamps, we’re pretty much sure they wouldn’t have imagined the scenes that met them during their MOA arena show. Thousands of fans blazing their appreciation for the boys, camera phones recording every second of their high-strung performance and screams that could only be described as “deafening”. The Filipino fans indeed know how to show their love for the lads from London. Truly, the band seems to agree with this, as they declared onstage “'Manila, you are the best and loudest crowd!”.
With a setlist composed of originals from their record, “Meet The Vamps”, to covers of songs from Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low and even My Chemical Romance – The Vamps exploded with never ending energy per song. May it be their upbeat tracks such as “Wild Heart” or “Girls On TV”, or their downtempo tunes such as “Shout About It” or “Risk It All”, the boys gave it their all. And this was indeed one of the best things about the band. From running around the stage, to spinning and playing shenanigans with each other, the quintet was simply entertaining.
As the show came to a close, the band promised to return to Manila soon. "We are 100% going to come back", they shared. And on cue, the screams blasted.
Surely, that’s definitely something we’d be super looking forward to.
The Vamps Live in Manila is presented by MMI Live and Ovation Productions!
