Kaskade, DVBBS headlined the 1st ZoukOut in the Philippines
For the first time in history, and post its acquisition by Genting Hong Kong, a leading corporation principally engaged in the business of cruise and cruise related operations along with leisure, entertainment and hospitality activities, ZoukOut took to the pristine beaches of Boracay for two days. Thousands of revellers converged onto the island over the Labour Day weekend, also commonly known as LaBoracay. Day 2 [May 1] of ZoukOut’s first ever prelude edition, wrapped up with its sunrise set at 7am with Zouk resident
The past weekend’s ZoukOut Prelude Edition in Boracay [April 30 & May 1] drew a 6,000 strong crowd to Station 2 at EPIC in White Sands Beach. The two-day festival featured some of the biggest names including Kaskade, Dubvision and DVBBS alongside a local Filipino line up featuring Deuce, Carlo Atendido and many more. Regional duo from Taiwan, Junior and Royal opened the festival on Day 1. ZoukOut Prelude Edition saw a 60% local crowd with visitors from around the region including Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and Korea.
The 16 year-old festival, organised by Zouk Singapore and celebrating its 16th installation in Singapore in December this year, stayed consistent in delivering a top notch production in Boracay alongside confetti bursts, pyrotechnics on stage, and dancers from Taiwan, Japan and Manila. Keeping consistent in building a VIP experience at the festival, ZoukOut Prelude Edition provided the tier up of three different categories of VIPs, who were treated to a dedicated VIP Entrance, close proximity to the stage and elevated seating areas with personalised service at their tables. This experience was further amplified with ZoukOut offering pre-festival concierge VIP services through the PartyPhile App which included a boat party, flights and accommodation arrangements.
Festival-goers participated actively on social media across the two days. #Zoukout2016 was trending on Twitter for more than 15 hours at No. 1 and #ZoukOutPH at No. 4. There were more than 3000 posts on Instagram capturing moments from the festival over the two days.
Some of the notable international media that turned up for the festival included DJ MAG PH, SOLAR, ABS CBN LIFESTYLE amongst others. Key opinion leaders and personalities who graced the event included Sarah Carlos (@carlos.sarah), Dee Kosh (@thedeekosh), Esther (@esther_erer) and many more.
