UFC® Returns to Manila on 15 October 2016
Manila – Following on the heels of 2015’s highly anticipated, inaugural UFC live event in the Philippines, UFC, the world’s premier Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organization, and SM Lifestyle Entertainment INC. join forces again this year to bring fans another sensational night of fights. UFC FIGHT NIGHT® MANILA returns to the SM Mall of Asia Arena Saturday, October 15. Tickets out starting August 17, 2016 through SM Tickets outlets and online via www.smtickets.com.
This coming October, UFC looks to exceed last year’s historic debut, which featured an electric showdown between longtime rivals Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber. The fight that had everyone talking however, belonged to Mark Munoz, who, after a dramatic victory, hung up his gloves before a roaring hometown Manila audience.
This year’s event promises to be another night to remember, with the best MMA athletes in the world taking to the Octagon® ready to go to battle and make their mark in front of Filipino fans.
“We are very excited to be back in the Philippines,” Executive Vice President & General Manager of UFC Asia Kenneth Berger said. “The consistently warm reception we receive from Filipino fans and last year’s sold out event shows us that UFC has an incredibly strong following in the country. Manila is a fighting city and we hope to put on another unforgettable show that will capture the hearts of Filipino sports fans throughout the country.”
“SM is honoured to have UFC Fight Night Manila return for a second season at the Mall of Asia Arena. As official home to world-class MMA events, having the UFC at Mall of Asia Arena is a further testament that our facilities are up to par with the international standards needed for such sports, reinforcing the Mall of Asia Arena as the premier venue destination for global sporting events.” says President of SM Lifestyle Entertainment, Inc.
