Before the superstardom, Zedd came to the Philippines as the opening act for Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball Tour last May 2012. Technically, he’s the first dance music superstar & the very first music artist to play-in at the newly opened Mall of Asia Arena. Fast-forward to August 2015, Zedd returned to the Philippines with a bang as he brought his True Colors World Tour at the same arena he first came in. Reported over 12,000 fans witnessed his show and marked as largest crowd attendance for a dance music event in MOA Arena.
2) Armin van Buuren (2014 & 2016)
The 5x no. 1 DJ and Trance music king Armin van Buuren changed the Arena EDM experience as he brought his massive Armin Only Intense to Mall of Asia Arena in May 2014. A 5-hour DJ set by Armin van Buuren himself with no opening act. Complete full productions including back-up singers and band, great visuals and lightings, pyrotechnics and props. Armin ended the night with one hour long vinyl DJ set. He’s coming back to Manila this year for the Armin Only Embrace which will be held on November 25, 2016 at Mall of Asia Arena.
-House music DJ, Avicii made his return to Manila in May 2013 for an arena show with Bassjackers in Mall of Asia Arena. Apparently that show would be his final show here as Avicii has retired from touring.
4) Swedish House Mafia (January 2013)
-The dance music super group, Swedish House Mafia came here in January 2013. SHM consist of progressive house music superstars Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell. Only Sebastian and Axwell played in Mall of Asia Arena for their Asia leg of One Last Tour – their final tour as a group. Another house music superstar, Quintino opened the show. Steve Angello first appearance was in Cebu's Plus 63 Music Festival in January 2016
5) Hardwell (October 2014)
-One of the Philippines’ in-demand dance music superstars, Hardwell brought his Go Hardwell or Go Home Tour to Mall of Asia Arena in October 2014. Killthebuzz was chosen to be his supporting act for the show. He’s also scheduled to return at the same arena a year after but got cancelled due to production problems. Recently, Hardwell supposedly to perform as one of the headliners for Road to Ultra Philippines but got cancelled due to delay of flights and later replaced by Jauz. Well….
6) Tiesto (October 2013 & September 2016)
- In October 2013, Trance superstar Tiesto made his PH return with an arena show. It is part of Tiesto’s Club Life Tour and held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Tigerlily also performed at the show. Tiesto is part of Road to Ultra Philippines 2016 in September 2016 at Mall of Asia Arena becoming the first dance music superstar to headline the Big Dome and MOA Arena.
-One of this year’s popular music acts. This progressive house duo made it to superstardom. Hits after hits! Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall also known as The Chainsmokers, returned to the Philippines and headlined Mall of Asia Arena in August 2016 and also reported as a sold-out show with 8,000 fans packed the venue on their first solo arena show ever.
-This one is different in the list. It’s a concert party featuring EDM/Hiphop duo LMFAO but only Redfoo came here for their arena show. Billed as the “Summer’s big party!”. Redfoo and the party rock crew “party rocked” the Smart Araneta Coliseum with Quest Crew in April 2012 for their Sorry for Party Rocking Tour. Now, the group is on hiatus, Redfoo came back here in May 2016 as the supporting act for Jason Derulo’s Mall of Asia Arena show.
-Recently, the second Road to Ultra festival supposedly held in Mall of Asia Concert Grounds but few weeks before the festival, the management announced that the second RTU was moved to indoor – Mall of Asia Arena. Technically, this is the first arena EDM festival in the Philippines. The festival was headed by Tiesto, Alesso, Fedde LeGrand, Moti, Raiden as well as Filipino DJs Tom Taus and Jessica Milner. Jauz made his Manila concert after Hardwell’s unexpected cancellation.

And the final on the list - David Guetta, yup, the man who revolutionized EDM shows in the Philippines. He came here along with Kaz James and Alesso, yup as Guetta’s supporting act. The show was held in Mall of Asia Arena last October 2012 making the first arena DJ set performance in the Philippines.
