Rakrakan, arguably the Philippines’ biggest, loudest, and most exciting all-OPM festival brand, is set to shake the local music scene once again on January 14, 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Aptly rebranded as “Rakrakan: OPM Against Drugs Festival” to raise awareness on drug abuse and addiction through music and the arts, Rakrakan has grown from a small-scale production to a huge 5-stage concert featuring 100 OPM bands, a skateboarding exhibition and competition, street art contest, merch exhibit, and many other activities.

To jumpstart the party fever and sustain the high-voltage energy of the 2017 countdown party, Chaos resident DJs Supmerman, MVRXX, Marc Marasigan will be spinning the soundtrack of Top 40 hits, hiphop, trap, bass, electro, EDM, House, Nu-Disco/Indie House, dubstep and RnB. Chaos resident hypeman Ronthug, known as one of the new generation club emcee and rap artist will keep the party crowd’s excitement and interaction with the DJ performers.

The first musical which features well-loved global icon Hello Kitty and friends, entitled Hello Kitty Live – Fashion & Friends, is set to premiere in the Philippines on December 20 and will run ‘til the 1st day of 2017 at the Meralco Theater.
Set in modern-day London, Hello Kitty is a young, modern girl who is full of dreams and ambition for her future. But before she can get there, she is faced with a challenge ahead. Luckily, she gets help from her fantastic friends.

Whenever a K-pop group visits the Philippines, it is always a given that they are greeted with the warmest welcome from their fan base, doubly so if it’s their first time in the country. It wasn’t surprising that Monsta X was met with a barrage of fangirl (and boy) screaming at their very first fan meet in the Philippines, but it was still very exciting to witness.
